10 Things You Didn't Know About Me

I've seen these going around on different blogs and I thought I'd join in on the fun!

1. I've recently become a vegan
2. I completed Ironman Lake Placid twice (2001 and 2002)
3. I lived in New York City for over 20 years
4. After graduation from Ithaca College I was employed in NYC as a commercial silk-screen artist
5. I have a 5th Place Head of the Charles medal (1977)
6.  I once swam in the Little Red Lighthouse Swim, in the Hudson River from the George Washington Bridge to Chelsea Piers
7. I learned most of my kayaking skills in New York Harbor
8. I was at the 2008 Tour de France to see Carlos Sastre win stage 17 on the famed Alpe d'Huez 
9. In the 80's I worked part-time as security at a NYC music venue (The Ritz) and was once assigned Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir (of the Grateful Dead) for the night.
